Adrian Tchaikovsky is a British fantasy and science fiction author whose work is heavily influenced by the natural world. His books frequently explore themes of artificial intelligence and alienness, often centering on non-human characters and perspectives. Tchaikovsky is best known for two major works. The Shadows of the Apt is his fantasy series, while the Children of Time series, which won the Hugo Award, represents his science fiction work. Both showcase his distinctive approach to storytelling through non-traditional viewpoints and his interest in how intelligence and consciousness manifest in different forms.
