Delia Owens is an American author, zoologist, and conservationist. She is best known for her 2018 novel Where the Crawdads Sing, which became a bestseller and was later adapted into a film. Owens has spent much of her life studying and observing wildlife in Africa, and her experiences have influenced her writing. She has co-authored several nonfiction books about her time in the wilderness, including Cry of the Kalahari and The Eye of the Elephant. Owens continues to be involved in conservation efforts and advocates for the protection of natural habitats and endangered species.
