Frank Herbert

Frank Herbert was an American science-fiction author, best known for his 1965 novel Dune and its sequels. Born in Tacoma, Washington in 1920, Herbert worked as a newspaper journalist, photographer, book reviewer, ecological consultant, and lecturer before finding success as a writer. Dune, his most famous work, is considered a landmark of the science-fiction genre and has been widely influential. Herbert went on to write five sequels to Dune, as well as numerous other short stories and novels. He passed away in 1986 in Madison, Wisconsin.
