Joseph Lloyd Carr, known as Jim or James, was born on May 20, 1912, in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. He was an English novelist, cartographer, lexicographer, publisher, and teacher who worked across multiple disciplines throughout his career. Carr died on February 26, 1994, in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
