James Dale Davidson

James Dale Davidson is an American private investor and investment writer. He is best known for his collaborative works with William Rees-Mogg, including Blood in the Streets: Investment Profits in a World Gone Mad (1987), The Great Reckoning (1991), and The Sovereign Individual (1997). Davidson has also worked as co-writer of the newsletter Strategic Investment. In 1993, Davidson published The Plague of the Black Debt, which contained several economic predictions. The book forecast a deep depression and predicted that President Clinton would serve only one term, as well as projecting a trillion-dollar increase in U.S. national debt during his presidency. Davidson also predicted significant political upheaval in Russia, anticipating that Boris Yeltsin would lose power and that the country would fall under nationalist and militarist control. Davidson has been credited with predicting the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis, though his prediction came considerably earlier than the crisis actually occurred. He was born in Washington, D.C.
