Joshua Foer is a freelance journalist and author based in Brookline, Massachusetts, with a focus on science writing. He gained public recognition after winning the 2006 USA Memory Championship, an achievement that became the subject of his 2011 book Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything. In the book, Foer explores the techniques and science behind memory improvement, drawing from his own experience training for and competing in the championship. Beyond his work as a writer, Foer co-founded Atlas Obscura with Dylan Thuras, a travel company that reflects his broader interests in science and discovery.
