Lewis Jones was a Welsh writer and Communist political activist from Clydach Vale in the Rhondda Valley, South Wales. Born in 1933, he worked as a coal miner before transitioning into trade union work and political activism. Jones became a prominent figure in the Communist Party of Great Britain and served as Welsh organiser for the National Unemployed Workers' Movement, roles that reflected his commitment to working-class causes and socialist politics during a formative period in twentieth-century British labor history.
