Elizabeth Murray is an American memoirist and inspirational speaker. She is notable for having been accepted by Harvard University despite being homeless during her high school years. Her life story was adapted into the Lifetime television film Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Murray's memoir, Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey from Homeless to Harvard, was published in 2010 and became a New York Times Bestseller. The book details her experiences overcoming homelessness and her path to higher education.
