Madeleine Sophie Wickham is an English author who writes under the pen name Sophie Kinsella. She is especially known for her best-selling Shopaholic series of novels, which follows the adventures of a compulsive shopper and has become a popular franchise. The Shopaholic series began with The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic in 2000, followed by Shopaholic Abroad in 2001. The success of these novels led to film adaptation, with the first two books being adapted into the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic in 2009.
