Niklas Bostrom is a philosopher whose research focuses on existential risk, artificial superintelligence, and fundamental questions about humanity's future. He has made significant contributions to discussions about the anthropic principle, human enhancement ethics, whole brain emulation, and what he calls the reversal test. Bostrom was the founding director of the Future of Humanity Institute at the University of Oxford, an academic center dedicated to studying long-term existential risks and opportunities for humanity. He has since become Principal Researcher at the Macrostrategy Research Initiative, continuing his work on strategic questions affecting human civilization.
