R. F. Kuang is an American writer known for her fantasy novels. She was born in Guangzhou, China in 1996 and later moved to the United States. Kuang was schooled in Texas before studying Sinology at Cambridge and Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. As of 2025, she was completing her PhD at Yale University.
