Ruth Wodak is an Austrian linguist who has made significant contributions to the field of discourse studies. She held the position of professor of applied linguistics at the University of Vienna from 1991 onwards, where she is now professor emeritus. She also served as professor emeritus of discourse studies at Lancaster University.
