Simone St. James is a Canadian author known for mystery, historical fiction, and romance novels. Her work frequently explores themes of ghosts, crime, and investigation, often centered around pivotal "what if" moments. Although she has never personally seen a ghost, the possibility of the supernatural features prominently throughout her writing. Before becoming a full-time writer, St. James spent twenty years working in the television business. She was inspired to write her first novel because she wanted to read a ghost story that was creepy but not gory and that included a romance element. Unable to find such a book, she decided to write it herself. Her early novels were set in the 1920s, but St. James has since expanded her work to explore other time periods, including the 1950s. She lives outside of Toronto, Canada.
