Ebenezer Scrooge sits alone in his counting house on Christmas Eve, dismissing charity collectors and his nephew's dinner invitation with contempt. The bitter miser cares only for money and despises Christmas festivities. That night, the ghost of his dead business partner Jacob Marley appears in chains, warning Scrooge that three spirits will visit him. The Ghost of Christmas Past shows Scrooge his lonely childhood and lost love. The Ghost of Christmas Present reveals how others celebrate despite hardship, including his clerk Bob Cratchit's family and their sickly son Tiny Tim. The final spirit shows Scrooge his own unmourned death. These supernatural encounters force Scrooge to confront the cruelty and isolation his greed has created. The visions transform him from a man who hoards wealth while others suffer into someone who understands the true meaning of generosity and human connection.
