Part of October Daye
First published 2012
October "Toby" Daye barely survived the previous year's catastrophes. War, loss, and sacrifice left her world in pieces. She throws herself into training Quentin and serving as Sylvester's knight, but reckless choices worry her closest allies. Then fellow knight Etienne arrives with devastating news. His changeling daughter Chelsea has vanished. He never knew she existed until she disappeared. Chelsea inherited his teleportation abilities but lacks any control over them. She tears open ancient barriers that were sealed for good reason. The doors she creates release dangers that predate modern Faerie. If nobody stops her rampage, she will destroy everything. Toby races through unknown realms against a ticking clock she cannot see. Each world brings new threats as she hunts for the girl. Meanwhile, trouble brews in the Court of Cats. Tybalt faces his greatest challenge yet and needs Toby's help. She thought surviving the last year was hard. The real test begins now.
