First published 2023
Nina Blackmoore considers herself the most practical witch in her powerful family, but a year of heartbreak after her fiancée abandoned her has left her desperate for change. Her best friend convinces her to try online dating, leading to a disastrous evening with Morty Gutierrez, the spontaneous co-owner of the Shamrock Cauldron. The awkward date turns worse when Morty learns Nina's surname and realizes her family has been aggressively pursuing his business. Then something impossible happens. Morty starts manifesting magical abilities, powers that typically emerge only when outsiders marry into founding magical families. Meanwhile, Nina's own magic spirals beyond her control, surging with frightening intensity. She must guide Morty through his shocking introduction to the hidden supernatural world while investigating what caused their simultaneous magical upheaval. The answer forces Nina to confront the electric connection growing between them and a troubling possibility: her power surge might be linked directly to Morty's presence, creating an addiction she finds increasingly difficult to resist.
