Bastille serves as a Knight of Crystallia sworn to guard the chaotic Smedry family from Evil Librarians. When she arrives at the altar where Alcatraz Smedry was meant to be sacrificed to dark gods, she finds his father dead in his place. The ritual has given Biblioden, the supposedly long-dead founder of the Evil Librarians, new dark powers for his plan to control the world. Alcatraz crumbles under grief and guilt, leaving Bastille to lead the fight against Biblioden. The villain now wields forces that burn people from within, threatening everyone outside Evil Librarian rule. Bastille refuses to die this way and searches for methods to defeat him. She knows Alcatraz wrongly believes he lacks heroism, but when heroes fail, others must rise to finish necessary work.
