Ethan Wate lives in Gatlin County, where nothing ever changes. Then the dreams begin. Night after night, he sees a dark-haired girl he cannot reach. When Lena Duchannes moves into the old Blackwood mansion with her reclusive Uncle Macon, Ethan recognizes her immediately. She is the girl from his visions. Something powerful pulls him toward her, despite the whispers that follow her family name. Lena carries a terrible burden. Her sixteenth birthday approaches, and with it comes a choice that will determine her fate. The Duchannes women face a family curse that spans generations. Lena must decide between light and darkness, but the decision may not be hers to make. In stark black and white illustrations, this manga adaptation brings the supernatural romance to vivid life. Ethan believed Gatlin held no secrets, but he discovers a world of magic hidden beneath the surface of his small Southern town. A curse, a girl, and a grave will change everything he thought he knew.
