Sadie White takes a summer job as a domestic servant for a wealthy family on an island near Sea Breeze. Her pregnant mother refuses to work, so Sadie must support them both. When the family arrives at their vacation home, Sadie learns her employer is Jax Stone, a famous teen rock star. Sadie has spent her life caring for her mother and managing their household. She feels no excitement about working for a celebrity. Jax finds himself drawn to Sadie despite her indifference to his fame. Everything about her captivates him, but he resists his feelings. He knows relationships fail in his world of music and believes Sadie deserves better than what he can offer. As summer continues, Jax struggles against his growing passion while Sadie becomes the center of his world. Their different backgrounds create obstacles, but their connection deepens. They must decide if love can bridge the gap between a rock star's lifestyle and a working girl's reality.
