Burning Brightly

by Ian Whates

First published 2021

This anthology presents a collection of hard-to-find stories and new fiction from Britain's science fiction luminaries. The book gathers rare reprints that originally appeared in Novacon convention booklets over five decades, including Iain M. Banks' "The Spheres," which has remained uncollected since 2010. Stephen Baxter, Peter F. Hamilton, Justina Robson, Paul McAuley, Jaine Fenn, Geoff Ryman, Juliet E. McKenna and Anne Nicholls contribute similarly elusive pieces. Five original stories by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Ian R. MacLeod, Eric Brown, Kari Sperring, and Martin Sketchley complete the volume. Convention committee members selected their favorite guest contributions from Novacon's 50-year history, creating a showcase of British science fiction talent. These stories span the breadth of the genre while commemorating one of the world's longest-running science fiction conventions.
