In 18th-century Germany, a young clockmaker's apprentice named Fritz stumbles upon the workshop of the reclusive inventor Dr. Kalmenius. There, he discovers a horrifying lifelike clockwork automaton - a dark reflection of his own existence, driven by a dark and sinister purpose.
