Fonda faces a problem when her seventh grade class announces an overnight trip to a smelly farm for Halloween. She has a much better idea: Catalina Island. But when she tries to propose her alternative, other students jump in with their own suggestions, including the best friend of her best friend's crush. The teacher announces a petition competition where the trip proposal with the most signatures wins. Fonda recruits her best friends Drew and Ruthie to help her campaign, but winning means they'll have to go all out. As the three girls juggle schoolwork, friendship drama, and their feelings about boys, Fonda discovers that changing one class trip might change everything about their friendship too.
