Earthquake Weather

First published 1998

Scott Crane, the Fisher King of the West, lies dead. A possessed young woman killed him, but now she has broken free from the ghost that controlled her. She wants to bring Crane back to life. His body rests in the magically warded house of Pete and Angelica Sullivan. They have adopted Koot Hoomie, a thirteen-year-old boy marked as the next Fisher King. Angelica believes Kootie is too young to take on the full responsibilities of kingship. The ancient rituals demand maturity he does not yet possess. But resurrection may be different from succession. Kootie might have the power to help reunite Crane's separated body and spirit. The question becomes whether a child can perform magic meant to restore a dead king. The fate of the Fisher King bloodline hangs on what this boy can accomplish.
