Kirk McGarvey sits down for lunch at the Eiffel Tower when terrorists launch an assault on the Paris landmark. He jumps into the fight to stop the attack, but quickly discovers the real target is much bigger. Someone wants to remove the ineffective American president by creating a conflict with Russia. Vladimir Putin has no interest in starting World War III, so when a Russian nuclear weapon disappears and intelligence shows it heading toward the United States, Putin asks McGarvey for help. McGarvey races across four countries to track down the weapon before it reaches American soil. The chase takes him through the streets of Paris, the markets of Istanbul, the corridors of Moscow, and the halls of Washington D.C. Time runs out with each passing hour. McGarvey alone has the skills to prevent disaster, but even his experience may not be enough to stop a plot designed to drag two superpowers into war.
