Part of Dilbert, book 32
First published 2011
Hank has grown used to his meaningless job and empty future. Then his boss fires him without warning. Lost and desperate, he encounters a group of anti-government militants who offer him purpose and a new identity. They speak of liberation and promise him the freedom he never knew he wanted. Hank follows them deeper into their underground network, participating in their plans and embracing their rhetoric. But their version of freedom comes with a price. The chaos they create destroys more than it builds. The violence they unleash consumes everything around them. Hank watches potential waste away in the name of radical change. He faces an impossible choice between the safe numbness of his old life and the destructive energy of his new companions. Both paths lead nowhere, but he must pick one anyway.
