Mallory Pike has felt exhausted and worn down for weeks. When she finally learns the cause, the diagnosis hits hard. She has mononucleosis. The doctor's orders are strict. Mallory must stay in bed and rest for an extended period. No classes, no extracurricular activities, no babysitting jobs, and most devastating of all, no participation in the Baby-sitters Club. The news devastates Mallory completely. Her fellow club members feel equally upset by this development. The group already struggles with Dawn's absence since she moved to California. Now they face the possibility of losing Mallory from their ranks as well. The club must figure out how to manage their responsibilities while supporting their sick friend through her recovery.
