Nell Flynn returns to Suffolk County after ten years away. Her father Martin, a homicide detective, has died in a motorcycle crash. She comes back to scatter his ashes and settle his affairs. Detective Lee Davis, her father's former partner, pulls Nell into investigating two recent murders. Young women named Ria Ruiz and Adriana Marques have been killed. As Nell digs deeper, the evidence starts pointing toward Martin as the prime suspect. His police colleagues seem to be protecting his reputation. Nell remembers her mother Marisol, who was murdered when Nell was seven years old. She had helped clear her father in that case, but now she questions everything. The investigation forces Nell to confront painful truths about the people she thought she knew and trusted most.
