Blueberry and Bert watch from their dog beds as their newly adopted human Maria creates an OkCupid profile. She picks the username "Hogbook" while across town, painter Scott chooses "Lazer Eyes" for his own account. The pugs observe Maria's nervous energy before her first date with Scott, then witness the couple's tentative second meeting. Both humans carry baggage from Bipolar II disorder and past relationship failures, but love grows between them anyway. Bert, obsessed with Riverdance performer Michael Flatley, provides commentary alongside elderly rescue dogs Betty and Arnold, who once appeared as space scientists on Maria's Netflix show Lady Dynamite. The four-legged narrators watch Maria and Scott navigate their courtship and eventual 2015 marriage. Scott's fine art background shows in his naturalistic illustrations, which capture Maria's comedic timing perfectly. This collaboration between the real-life couple transforms their dating story into a full-color graphic tale told through the wise and witty voices of their beloved rescue pugs.
