Joe DeMarco gets an urgent call from his boss, House Minority Leader John Mahoney. Mahoney's secret son has been gunned down in a Manhattan bar. Five witnesses saw rich kid Toby Rosenthal pull the trigger. The case looks solid until prosecutor Justine Porter notices something wrong. Her witnesses are disappearing one by one. Porter suspects someone is making them vanish, part of a nationwide scheme to help wealthy defendants escape justice. DeMarco teams up with Porter and her brilliant young intern to track down whoever is eliminating inconvenient testimony.
