Glenn Thrush has spent most of his adult life writing poems when inspiration strikes. He cannot simply sit down and force verse to appear, but when the right moment comes, words begin to flow naturally. For years he shared these poems with people who wanted or needed them, then discarded the originals. His wife Susan changed everything by insisting he preserve his work. She suggested they create their own Christmas cards each year, leading to a collection of holiday poems. As they moved through life together, Susan pushed Glenn to consider publishing a book, though he doubted the idea would succeed. She handled technical aspects of the project and provided encouragement throughout. The resulting collection focuses on ordinary experiences that touch everyone's lives: trips to repair shops, money troubles, grocery shopping, and other common situations. Each poem springs from a specific person, location, or occasion that moved the author to write. Susan's belief in the project made publication possible, earning her the book's dedication.
