Marcus Brutus faces an impossible choice when fellow senators approach him with their deadly plan. They want him to help assassinate Julius Caesar, the powerful Roman leader whose ambition threatens the Republic. Brutus loves Caesar like a father, yet he loves Rome more. As the conspirators gather on the Ides of March, Brutus must decide whether Caesar's death will save or damn them all. The assassination succeeds, but the aftermath brings civil war, betrayal, and blood. Brutus discovers that killing a tyrant and preserving freedom are not the same thing. The play explores whether noble intentions can justify terrible acts, and whether those who commit violence for the greater good are heroes or murderers.
