Kristy Thomas thinks she has struck gold with her latest babysitting club idea. The Stoneybrook Baby Parade needs floats, and the Baby-sitters Club has access to plenty of adorable little ones like Squirt and Emily Michelle. Kristy pictures a perfect parade entry with cute babies in matching costumes waving from their decorated float. The plan seems foolproof until reality hits. The float transforms into something resembling a giant orange blob instead of the charming display Kristy envisioned. The costumes look terrible on the babies, who refuse to cooperate and cry nonstop. What started as Kristy's brilliant scheme quickly becomes a crisis that threatens to embarrass the entire Baby-sitters Club. The girls must figure out how to salvage their sinking parade entry before they become the laughingstock of Stoneybrook.
