Object 626, a genetically modified and extremely dangerous alien from planet Turo, crash lands in Hawaii. The Galactic Federation sends Jumba and Pleakley to hunt him down. Five-year-old Lilo finds the alien creature first and takes him home, naming him Stitch and treating him as a friend. She recognizes that his "badness level is extraordinarily high for someone so small," but she refuses to give up on him. While Stitch's destructive instincts threaten everything around him, Lilo works to teach him about ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family. She believes that showing him love and belonging can transform even the most dangerous creature. The chase intensifies as the alien hunters close in, but Lilo remains determined to protect her unusual new family member and help him understand what it means to belong somewhere.
