Lucid's Dreaming

by Jim Marrs

First published 2013

Lucid finds herself torn from the 19th century and dropped into a world where Nazi Storm Troopers hunt ancient powers. The SS seeks to awaken the Ancient Ones, primeval gods who slumber beyond reality's borders. Lucid must navigate magical paintings that serve as doorways, survive deadly jungles where human sacrifice feeds dark rituals, and resist Heinrich Himmler's Gestapo forces who want to use her abilities. She travels with a Siamese cat that hides its true nature and encounters Mastro, a mysterious keeper of forbidden knowledge. Time fractures around her as she moves through this labyrinthine reality. The Nazi plot reaches its climax when they attempt to open the gates of Hell itself. Lucid faces Dagon, one of the most powerful Ancient Ones, whose awakening would mean the subjugation and annihilation of all humanity. Her survival depends on understanding powers she never knew she possessed while the fate of the world hangs on her ability to stop forces beyond human comprehension.
