Part of Moonshot Hockey
First published 2025
Nick Galaxy does not want to be the subject of a romance novel. He is a professional hockey player, a single dad, and a man who keeps his personal life locked down tight. Then Ruby arrives at his door with a notebook and a smile that does not quit. She needs research. He needs her gone. Neither gets what they want. Ruby moves into the empty cabin on his property, and suddenly she is asking questions he has no interest in answering, watching him parent, watching him skate, watching him in ways that make it hard to stay guarded. He agrees to teach her to skate, which is a mistake. Ice time turns into something neither of them planned. Nick is not looking for a partner. Ruby is supposed to be writing about love, not falling into it. But she keeps showing up, and he keeps letting her, and the story she is writing starts to look a lot like the one they are already living. Nick has to decide whether protecting his heart is worth losing the woman who already has it.
