Journalist Carl Streator is investigating SIDS when he discovers a chilling connection: a lullaby that kills. Lodged in his brain, the "culling song" transforms Streator into an involuntary serial killer. He teams up with a real estate broker, Helen, who lost her own child to the song, to scour the country and destroy every copy of the deadly book. Their road trip grows increasingly unhinged as they're joined by Helen's Wiccan assistant and her ecoterrorist boyfriend, all while trying to stop the song from spreading and wiping out humanity.
