Marshall is a Newfoundland dog whose ship crashes on the rocks near Nantucket Island in 1877. He survives the wreck alongside his owner and fellow sailors. A local island family takes Marshall in after the rescue. Soon he begins working with the crew at the Surfside Life-Saving Station.
