First published 2002

Edwina Henderson has finally earned her promotion to head the RCMP detachment in Gibsons, British Columbia. She commands fifteen officers and two civilians, but before she can properly assess her new team, routine complaints start flowing in. A woman reports stolen property. Another calls about a break-in. Eddie dismisses both cases as minor nuisances at first. Her second-in-command joins the investigation, and they quickly discover these incidents connect to something far more sinister. A stalker has fixated on a woman living by herself. His anger grows more violent each day, and he appears ready to murder his target. Eddie races to identify and capture him before he strikes. She cannot escape the unsettling sense that the predator operates much closer to her investigation than anyone realizes. The clock ticks down as Eddie fights to protect an innocent life.
