Isaiah had it all planned out. This summer before high school would be him, Drew, and Darius hanging out, doing wheelies, and watching martial arts movies. But Darius is gone now, and Isaiah wasn't there when it happened. Drew barely speaks to him anymore. Isaiah decides they'll honor Darius by breaking every record they can think of, since Darius always dreamed of setting world records. But Drew has changed. He doesn't want the old Isaiah anymore, the one who loves D&D and photography and hates jumping off rooftops. Drew wants someone tough and unfeeling. Isaiah is sensitive and uncool, everything Drew now rejects. When something terrible happens to Isaiah, he starts believing Drew is right. Maybe if he could be less sensitive, less weird, less himself, everything would be easier. But Isaiah can only contain so much before he breaks completely.
