The White House chief of staff lies dead in his heavily guarded Washington D.C. home. A message found with the body promises more victims will follow, including the president himself. Major Sean Drummond, an Army lawyer temporarily assigned to the CIA, gets paired with FBI agent Jennifer Margold to track down the killer. Their partnership proves difficult from the start, but both know they must deliver results quickly. Security agencies take the threat seriously, especially after recent Islamic extremist warnings against the president surfaced online. Political pressure mounts as officials demand a swift resolution. Drummond and Margold face becoming scapegoats if they fail to catch the perpetrator in time. The killer proves cunning and calculating, staying one step ahead of their investigation at every turn. As the hunt intensifies, the two agents must overcome their rocky collaboration to stop a methodical murderer before the ultimate target falls victim.
