Mouse makes his home in the rafters of Dogtown, a shelter where real dogs and robot dogs wait for adoption. Below him, kibble fills the bowls and hope fills the air. His best friend is Buster, a real dog whose good heart somehow leads to constant mishaps. Mouse knows Buster deserves a loving family, even though finding one means saying goodbye to his closest companion. He teams up with two other dogs nobody wants to adopt. Stewie towers over the others, branded as aggressive by his former owner despite his gentle nature. Smokey is a robot dog whose malfunctioning smoke alarm makes him screech without warning.
