Muriel Blossom finds a winning lottery ticket in a parking lot and decides to see the world she feels is passing her by. The former private investigator and middle-aged widow books a river cruise through France on the MS Solitaire. On her transatlantic flight, she meets Allan, the first man to spark feelings in her since her husband died. Twenty-four hours later, Allan turns up dead in Paris, a city he was never supposed to visit. Now Mrs. Blossom doesn't know who to trust aboard the ship. A mysterious man named Danny keeps appearing whenever trouble strikes, convinced that Allan was smuggling stolen art. He believes Mrs. Blossom knows more than she admits about both the artifact and Allan's death. As the cruise moves down the Seine, her questions multiply. Someone seems to be following her. She wonders who Allan really was and why he was killed. Most puzzling of all, why do these dangerous men keep flirting with her? Mrs. Blossom must use her investigative skills to solve the mystery before she becomes the next victim.
