Part of Bleak Haven, book 2

First published 2026

Noah can't believe what he's witnessing. Masked figures storm into his beloved bookstore, but they aren't after money. These attackers want something far more dangerous: The Burning Book, an urban legend from Bleak Haven that most people dismiss as folklore. Noah soon discovers the legend is terrifyingly real when something hungry for human flesh emerges from the book's pages. Trapped inside the mall with other hostages, Noah must find a way to work with strangers under impossible circumstances. The creature stalks them through the corridors while the town remains unaware of the horror unfolding. Noah faces a terrible choice between his own survival and preventing the monster from escaping into Bleak Haven's streets. The stakes climb higher as the creature grows stronger and more aggressive. Noah and the other survivors must overcome their fear and find the courage to stop a nightmare from consuming everyone they know.
