Odyssey's End

by Matt Coyle

First published 2023

Rick Cahill sits alone in his San Diego office, his family gone. Leah has taken their daughter Krista to Santa Barbara, afraid of Rick's violent episodes caused by his worsening CTE brain disease. The private investigator knows his time is running out, and he desperately needs money for Krista's future. When his old enemy Peter Stone walks through the door offering fifty thousand dollars, Rick listens despite every instinct screaming danger. Stone wants Rick to find a woman who can provide a life saving bone marrow transplant. The case seems straightforward enough for a dying man's last job. Rick takes the money, thinking he can wrap this up quickly and maybe earn a final chance to see his family. Instead, he stumbles into a web of cryptocurrency schemes and mounting bodies. As the violence escalates, Rick realizes he's fighting enemies from his past in a battle that may cost him his life before he can make things right with Leah and Krista.
