Part of Blue Ridge Library Mysteries
First published 2019
Amy Webber helps organize Taylorsford's revived May Day celebration, working with a folklore expert on a research presentation. The spring festivities turn dark when a university student disappears during the bonfire. Police investigate the missing woman, and Amy's neighbor Richard Muir becomes a suspect. Richard taught the student dance but won't reveal his alibi for that night, even to Amy. The case grows more complex when searchers find the student alive in the mountains with no memory of recent events. A dead body lies near where they discover her. Amy must use her research skills and natural curiosity to uncover what really happened. The investigation forces her to navigate a network of deceptions while questioning how well she knows the people around her, including Richard.
