The Catholic Church has collapsed. Scandals and secularism have forced it to shut down completely. The Vatican now operates as an adult casino resort. The final Pope finds himself unemployed and adrift. He makes a brief stop in Paris before heading to Venice, California. There he plans to connect with a group of rebels who want to save what remains of the Church. These rebels hope to rebuild the institution from scratch. The Pope must go undercover to join their mission. His journey forces him to confront his own past and rediscover humility. As he works alongside the rebels, he struggles with temptation. The ordinary pleasures that once seemed beneath him now pull at him again. His faith in the mission wavers as his human desires resurface.
