Jack Morgan arrives in Paris expecting a peaceful visit to Private's local office. He plans to enjoy good food and tourist attractions between brief work meetings. Those plans shatter when client Sherman Wilkerson calls with an urgent request. Wilkerson's granddaughter has disappeared while running from a dangerous drug dealer. Jack agrees to find her. Before he can locate the missing girl, prominent figures from France's cultural scene turn up murdered. Each killing displays elaborate symbolic elements that suggest deeper meaning. The only connection between victims is strange graffiti appearing at each crime scene. Jack realizes these deaths form a pattern. Religious and ethnic tensions rise throughout Paris as fear spreads. The city feels ready to explode into violence. Jack and his Private team must decode the killer's message before more people die. They race against time to prevent the simmering conflicts from erupting into chaos. Two separate cases may be more connected than Jack initially understood.
