First published 2016

Michelle thinks her cousin David is acting silly when he grabs a feather and dances around a Native American statue at the museum. She tells him she would only dance with real Indians. David has a secret though. He owns a magic coin that lets him travel through time. He has already visited famous explorers, artists, and kings. Now he uses the coin to grant Michelle's wish. The cousins find themselves in a Sioux camp on the border of North and South Dakota. They meet Washta, a young Sioux who becomes their friend and teaches them about the animals his people hunt. The children also encounter President Theodore Roosevelt, Buffalo Jones, and Chief Sitting Bull. Everything seems wonderful until David hears gunshots at the edge of the camp. The children must figure out what is happening and find a way to protect their new friends from danger.
