Part of Dragon Masters, book 1
First published 2014
Drake is eight years old when King Roland's soldiers grab him and haul him off to the castle. The king has chosen him to become a Dragon Master. At the castle, Drake meets three other kids picked for the same job: Ana, Rori, and Bo. Each of them gets assigned a dragon to work with. But connecting with a dragon isn't easy. Drake has to figure out how to communicate with his dragon and earn its trust. The other Dragon Masters face the same challenge with their own creatures. Each dragon has a special power that remains hidden until the bond grows strong. Drake wonders if he has what it takes for this job. He needs to discover his dragon's unique ability while learning to work as part of a team. The fate of the kingdom might depend on whether these four young Dragon Masters can succeed in their training.
