Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch board a night train through Indian Territory with what should be routine work. The newly minted Territorial Marshals are escorting Mexican prisoners to the border when the Texas Governor joins their car with his family and half a million dollars. The train climbs through a violent thunderstorm as trouble arrives in the form of Bloody Bob Brandice. Twelve years ago, Cole put two bullets in Brandice and left him bleeding in the street. Now Brandice returns with a gang of killers and a score to settle. The robbery puts the Governor's daughters in mortal danger while Brandice focuses his hatred on Cole. Hitch and Cole must protect their passengers and prisoners while trapped in a metal box hurtling through the darkness. The storm outside matches the violence within as old debts demand payment in blood.
